Trip plan

Day 1

Set sail for Charlevoix and start your journey with a guided tour of the Charlevoix Maritime Museum. You will see schooners, a permanent exhibition in the form of a marked path along the river telling the story of the shipyard, a hebertism trail, a plant labyrinth, an arboretum and a multimedia experience. In the afternoon, a guide interpreter from the Observatoire de l’Astroblème de Charlevoix will demystify with you all the secrets of the meteorite impact that have shaped the territory. An extraordinary geological experience where you will have the chance to handle real fragments of meteorites! Finally, stretch your muscles by taking a discovery tour of the geology along the majestic river. Tread historically rich soil over varied terrain as you cycle through rocky outcrops, beaches and stony shores. Enjoy a well-deserved night in cabins at the Port-au-Saumon Ecological Center. Meal included: dinner.

Day 2

In the morning, take the Côte-Nord gateway by taking the Baie-Sainte-Catherine-Tadoussac ferry. Be a student for a day at the École de la Mer in Grande-Bergeronnes where several workshops related to geography, geology, biology and oceanography are offered. In the afternoon, head to Tadoussac for a visit to the Marine Mammal Interpretation Center, whose mission is to fascinate and educate visitors about the complex realities of whales. Take a different look at these giants that inhabit our oceans! A short walk away, go back to the 1600s to visit the Chauvin Trading Post which played a major role in the birth of New France. End your day at the impressive dunes of Tadoussac where there is a belvedere to admire the breathtaking view. Total change of scenery guaranteed! Accommodation in dormitories at Maison de la Mer for the night. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3

Start the day off on the right foot with a hike on the Pointe-de-l’Islet trail, a small, easy 900-meter loop. This site is the ideal place for the observation of birds and marine mammals, due to the abundance of food provided by a marine trench which rises steeply near Tadoussac. Before you return home, do the area’s top activity – a whale watching cruise! A safe and unforgettable experience to live. Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
