The five boroughs of New York City are to be discovered and rediscovered. Manhattan Island is arguably the most popular travel destination for student groups with the Fifth Avenue, Central Park, the Empire State Building, Broadway and Times Square just to name few. The Big Apple has something to impress with its population of over 8 million people as well as its huge skyscrapers. In New York City, everything is larger than life!
Depart from your school early in the morning with a bus ride to New York City! Upon arrival in Manhattan in the late afternoon, stretch your muscles with a stroll down the famous 5th Avenue to shop and see the luxurious Plaza Hotel, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and several prestigious stores. Before dinner at one of our proposed restaurants, do the most anticipated activity by students, visiting world famous Times Square! They will be able to walk the streets inhabited by several costumed characters and animated by the imposing luminous digital screens. In the evening, visit the Madame Tussauds wax museum where students can get up close to the hyper realistic statues of their favorite celebrities. You will have the chance to accompany Alicia Keys on the piano and participate in a 4-D experience with Marvel superheroes. Installation at your hotel at the end of the day. Meal included: dinner.
After breakfast, enjoy an orientation bus tour of Midtown and Uptown with your tour guide. You will thus have a better idea of the configuration of the city and its different districts. After lunch, climb up the Empire State Building, whose new exhibit begins on the 2nd floor. Follow the exhibit by taking the elevators up to the 80th floor, then enjoy the best view of the city from the main viewing platform. In good weather, you can see up to six US states in the distance. Come back to earth with a walk in the Central Park, the nature in the city. Despite being the most visited park in the United States, you will be surprised at how quiet it can be. After the evening meal, students will be charmed by the Brooklyn Bridge. It is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, and the beauty of its architecture has earned it several film appearances. Depart back to your hotel with the memory of the evening view of Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.
After having breakfast and packing up at your hotel, make your way to Staten Island. Depart from this borough on the free ferry to Manhattan. During your crossing, you will have the chance to admire the famous Statue of Liberty. Disembark at Battery Park for a walking tour of the southern part of the island where the 9/11 Memorial and Ground Zero are located. Take a moment to collect yourself at the very spot where the World Trade Center Twin Towers collapsed on September 11, 2001. Next, walk through the Wall Street Financial District where is located the New York Stock Exchange. Depending on the interests of students, it is also possible to visit the areas of the Meetpacking District, Chinatown, Little Italy, Greenwich Village, East Village or SoHo. There is so much to do that you have to make choices and keep some for your next student trip to New York City! After dinner, leave the Big Apple towards your school. Meals included: Breakfast.
