Trip plan

Day 1

Departure from your school in the morning and stop en route for lunch. Arrived in Philadelphia in the late afternoon, meet at Liberty Place for dinner. In the evening, see the city in a whole new way by taking part in a haunted walk through the streets of the Historic District. Check in at your hotel thereafter. Meal included: dinner.

Day 2

After breakfast and packing your bags, meet your local guide who will take students around the city of Philadelphia, exploring its many historic buildings, including Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. You will also see Love Park and the Rocky Statue, two must-sees in Philly. Take time to have lunch on South Street or the Stock Exchange Building and then board your coach for the drive to Washington. Once in Washington, make a photo stop at the White House and then dine at National Place or the Ronald Reagan Building. In the evening, take a bike ride through the National Mall as the monuments are less crowded and the views even more magnificent. Be impressed by this famous park and explore memorials of WWII, Vietnam War, Jefferson, Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. Check in at the hotel at the end of the day. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 3

Start the day with a tour of Arlington Cemetery. Created during the Civil War, it is one of the largest American military cemeteries. Discover the famous Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, permanently guarded since 1937 by soldiers of the US Army. For lunch, head to the Fashion Center in Pentagon City and let students some time do make souvenir shopping at this mall’s many stores. Then take advantage of a free afternoon to visit the various museums of the Smithsonian Institute: The Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, the American History Museum, the Art Museum African or the Native American Museum. Next, travel to Georgetown for dinner in a historic district steeped in Scottish history. Did you know Georgetown was a city older than Washington D.C. itself? Also discover the campus of Georgetown University, founded in 1789. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 4

In the morning, go for a visit to the Holocaust Memorial Museum, dedicated to the history of the extermination of European Jews by the Nazi regime during the Second World War. Fighting hatred and anti-Semitism, the Holocaust Memorial Museum inspires citizens and world leaders to prevent genocide and promote human dignity. After lunch at Union Station, stop by the Library of Congress. This federal cultural institution is the largest library in the world with more than 130 million items spread over approximately 850 km of shelves. Then, visit the International Spy Museum which features the largest collection of international spy artifacts ever on display to the public. Explore the world of espionage and discover a new way of seeing the world you live in. After a meal at Enfant Plaza, end the day with a narrated cruise on the Potomac River for spectacular views of Washington. Return to your hotel after the cruise. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 5

Breakfast taken and luggage packed, board your coach and drive to your school for a scheduled evening arrival. Stops during the journey are planned for meals. Meals included: breakfast.
