Trip plan
Day 1
Departure to Bas-Saint-Laurent in the morning. Start your visit of the region with a discovery of the Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site, where you will spend a good part of the day. Admire the Lighthouse-de-Pointe-au-Père, which, thanks to its geographical location, has long been one of the most important navigational aids in Canada. Take an immersive tour of the Empress of Ireland Museum to learn about Canada’s greatest maritime tragedy and explore Canada’s first submarine open to the public, the Onondaga. In the evening, the Riki Bloc climbing cooperative awaits you for a complete climbing and teamwork adventure. Will you be able to reach the top? Installation at the hotel after the activity. Meal included: dinner.
Day 2
Your second day in the region begins with a fun and ecological activity at the Forêt de Maître Corbeau aerial trail park. Live a unique experience in an exceptional setting and take the opportunity to surpass yourself! Then, head to the Bic National Park for an educational hike in the company of a passionate park warden. You will discover a park which reflects the promise of the maritime estuary: bays, coves, islands, sea mammals and birds, rare flowers… all in a soft and relaxing atmosphere that only the sea, its smell and its breeze can deliver. After dinner, explore Rimouski by taking its promenade de la mer, an ideal place to admire the remarkable sunset over the river. Also stop at the Breakwater, an urban relaxation area with outdoor furniture to enjoy the scenery. On site, you will find a 4-meter tide tower that will show you the tides with blue lights. Like the Rimouski people, learn to live to the rhythm of the tides! Meals included: breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner.
Day 3
After preparing your luggage, go to the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent in Rivière-du-Loup to discover the multiple exhibitions that showcase the art and history of the region and contemporary art, regional and national. As a bonus, you can admire an impressive collection of ethnological photography from the region! To end your journey down the river, take part in a marine mammal observation cruise with Société Duvetnor or AML Cruises. The beauty of the coast and the clean air of the estuary will be the icing on the cake of your trip! What if, in addition, you come across some magnificent whales during your excursion? Head back to your school after the cruise. Meals included: Breakfast.
