DAY 1 – Journey to the St. Lawrence
Departure from your school aboard a luxury coach. Lunch en route at a rest stop (please bring your own lunch).
Arrival in Grande-Bergeronnes and check-in at the Maison de la Mer.

Activity (subject to change): Discovering the St. Lawrence
This seaside activity allows students to explore the marine St. Lawrence, an ecosystem rich in biodiversity. They will discover the exceptional variety of life in this unique environment.
Evening activity (subject to change): Mysterious Whales
Using a touchscreen or outdoor presentation, students will learn about the fascinating adaptations of whales to their marine environment: underwater nursing, temperature regulation, breathing, and different feeding strategies. Real artifacts—such as baleen, krill, and bones—enhance this engaging, hands-on experience.

DAY 2 – Beneath the Surface
Activity (subject to change): Creatures of the Seafloor
Seated near the riverbank, students observe marine animals brought up by divers: starfish, sea cucumbers, crabs, urchins, anemones, and more. These fascinating creatures are placed in a saltwater tank, allowing for close observation—and even gentle touching!

An unforgettable sea adventure in search of the St. Lawrence’s majestic marine mammals.
Dinner
Activity (subject to change): Low-Tide Exploration
With rubber boots on, students explore marine pools and their inhabitants: algae, small crustaceans, mussels, sea urchins, and more. This sensory-rich experience highlights the incredible adaptations of invertebrates living in this dynamic environment.

DAY 3 – Giants, Dunes & Discovery
Activity (subject to change): Visit to the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre (CIMM)
This exciting museum visit will captivate students of all ages with its impressive collection of whale skeletons, including a fin whale, a North Atlantic right whale, and a humpback whale. The famous “whale ballet” and an on-site gift shop complete the experience.
Activity (subject to change): Excursion to the Tadoussac Dunes
Explore this spectacular landscape formed over 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. This educational hike offers breathtaking views of the dunes, the St. Lawrence River, and the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord. Along the way, students will learn about geomorphology, glaciation, and the history of human settlement in the region.

Departure by coach back to your school after lunch.
