Then take a walking tour of historic Society Hill and Old City. Stroll the cobblestone streets and admire the houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest street in Philadelphia, is a must see with its red brick houses with colorful shutters, some of which were even inhabited by the Founding Fathers. Installation at your hotel in the evening. Meal included: dinner.

Day 2

After lunch, meet your local guide who will take you around the city to discover its many historic sites such as the Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Also see the famous staircase featured in the movie “Rocky”. In the afternoon, meet at the Eastern State Penitentiary for a guided tour of the first true “penitentiary,” opened in 1829. Walk through these crumbling cell blocks that once housed many of America’s most notorious offenders including Al Capone. It is even said that this place is haunted! Then head to the Franklin Institute Science Museum, a leader in science and technology. Explore the ingenuity of Benjamin Franklin’s work through various educational science exhibits. End your day at the Philadelphia Mills for dining and shopping. It is also possible to add a professional team sports game to your schedule! Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 3

Head to Lancaster for a guided coach tour of the Amish village to experience the fascinating way of life of this community. Students will learn about their history, customs and heritage as they visit a typical house, business and farm, while walking through the countryside. Then have a good meal on site at the Hershey Farm Restaurant in the form of a family table. Then take the road back to Philadelphia to visit Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were signed. Dine nearby and, in the evening, see the city in a whole new way by taking part in a haunted walk through the streets of the Historic District. Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
